Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Investigates and interprets policy provisions, endorsements and conditions to make a coverage determination in the automobile property claim. Identify and investigate Contested Coverage Claims with recommendation prepared for coverage committee. - Responsible for the investigation of the auto accident to make a liability assessment. This includes interviewing first and third party claimants, witnesses, investigating officers and other relevant parties, along with securing pertinent records, documentation and loss scene information. - Analyzes the investigation to determine proximate cause, negligence, and damages. Evaluates and adjusts reserves as necessary. - Prepares dispatch instructions for field personnel to inspect vehicles. - Negotiates and settles claims within his/her individual authority. Submits claims for approval to supervisor when over his/her authority or for guidance, review and/or referral when appropriate. - Maintains an effective follow-up system on pending files. The PIP Attorney will be part of a dynamic team and responsible for analyzing arbitration demands; preparing comprehensive initial file reviews that identify all central and ancillary issues and analyzes those issues; preparing detailed, comprehensive and thorough arbitration submissions, post arbitration submissions and an analysis of the arbitration award; and participating in arbitrations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Possesses at least two years relevant PIP arbitration experience. - Analyze complex arbitration demands referred from Claims and prepare action plans and necessary submissions. - Interface and develop a rapport with Claims. - Conducts EUOs when necessary. - Possesses excellent knowledge of all statutes, regulations, NCCI edits, Medicare sites etc. necessary to prepare detailed submissions addressing all issues. - Possesses excellent knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance Law, such as coverage questions, UM and UIM Coverage, No-Fault, etc. - Provides legal research and direction to Claims on cases of significant exposure and complexity. - Work independently in making decisions in file handling and communicating those decisions to the proper parties. - Ability to utilize case management system and Outlook and work in a paperless environment.   Qualifications and Education - Fully licensed to practice law in New Jersey. We would love for you to join our award winning team!   The Administrative Claims Specialist is a full-time operations position, which supports the functions of the Total Loss Adjuster/ Claims Adjusters within the Property Unit.   This positon will focus on handling the salvage process for vehicles that were declared a total loss.  Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Process total loss mail to include - Review of documents to ensure proper completion - Document Claims Pro notes with salvage status - Alert total loss claim representatives when payment due based on receipt of paperwork - Answer calls regarding how to properly complete paperwork - Assist with calls from vehicle owners on how to sign titles - Respond to Salvage yard as needed with additional documents/information - Outbound follow up calls to Lien Holders, insureds and claimants for missing documentation - Maintain diary for follow up as needed - Update salvage screens in Claims Pro - Handle total loss delay letters - Complete submission of documents to the salvage yard with title transmittal form. - Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals - Assist other Operations team members as needed with tasks such as subro assist, police report review/documentation, dispatch, issuing payments and sending delay letters - Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications and Education - A high school diploma is required.
