The Treasury Operations Accountant is primarily responsible for day to day activity relating to  premium billing operations, general ledger journal entries, suspense account reconciliations, processing daily outgoing premium refund and claim payments and supporting tasks for past due premium bad debt management.  In addition, this position will assist the Treasury Manager with AR journal entry review, payroll deduct premium handling and bank reconciliations. The candidate will also participate in the support of our internal customers in Customer Solutions with payment corrections and pay plan updates. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Works independently with judgment to communicate up when appropriate - Build a solid understanding of how each billing transaction affects general ledger, bad debt and our internal and external customers. - Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals - Prepare suspense and bank reconciliations and improves processes to prevent re-occurrence of discrepancies - Review and process daily outgoing refund and loss payments - Process pay plan updates following NACHA returns involving incorrect DDA - Prepare submissions to collections vendor for bad debt placements. Notify vendor of direct paid balances, post weekly remittances. - Review and correct suspense account activity via EAS Suspense module  Qualifications and Education - Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance - One to three years related experience. The Property Damage Claims Supervisor will oversee the operation of a unit of claim representatives (6 to 7+) with varying levels of experience who handle physical damage claims in accordance with state specific regulations. The ideal candidate will be familiar with property damage, State compliance in a multi- State environment including New Jersey, Pennsylvania and ideally New York and Massachusetts.  Extensive understanding and application of comparative negligence is a requirement. This would be supervising a Complex team of associates. This position is responsible for planning the activities and monitoring the results of the team’s efforts to achieve assigned goals and objectives for production and quality.  You will advise your team on their handling of claims in multiple States in accordance with the States’ regulations.  You will interact with your staff through regular Team/Huddle Meetings as well as one on one developmental sessions. You will partner with management in review of the department’s pending and provide technical training, file instruction, and advice to claims associates on an everyday basis. The Appraisal Unit Supervisor directs, controls, and monitors the work within their unit.  The Appraisal Unit Supervisor ensures that the investigation/coverage/damage assessment, along with settlements and negotiations are completed in accordance with the NJ Unfair Claims Practices Act and the companies policies and procedures. Activities are geared toward meeting the Claim Department's loss containment, service and expense related objectives. A significant portion of the Appraisal Unit Supervisor's day to day activities involve technical and administrative responsibilities associated with their unit.  The Appraisal Unit Supervisor will analyze a variety of management reports and conduct audits to determine program compliance and/or opportunity areas, generating action plans as necessary.  Effectively communicate and report observations to the Claims Director. The Appraisal Unit Supervisor will interact with customers, claimants and vendors.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Directs and controls work of their unit and other areas assigned.  Audit casework in the unit and office for quality assessment. Complies with the Companies Quality Assurance program to identify problems, provide direction and critique performance of the unit members. Provide feedback and training to the staff based on results. Review and approve damage and settlement amounts that exceed staff's authority levels. - Monitor assignments and work flow to ensure timely service, efficiency and the quality of work product. - Train and develop staff to achieve and maintain high quality performance standards. Conduct staff meetings to answer questions, complete training, and discuss new or revised procedures. - Perform salary administration and performance evaluation of staff. Address and properly document performance issues, action plans and general developmental needs. - Re-inspect automobile losses for accuracy and provide feedback and training to staff based upon the re-inspection results.  Re-inspections are on estimates completed by staff and independent adjusters, as well as body shops and contractors. - Review data and reports and generate reports and analysis to assess the staff's quality of work product and to determine why objectives are or are not being met. - Resolve complaints from insureds, claimants, brokers, other claim personnel, etc., through active participation. - Complete special projects as assigned by management. - Make recommendations to management for promotions, staff size, staffing changes, salary administration.  May participate in the hiring of new employees. - General day to day administrative recording keeping and compliance requirements. - Responsible for overseeing and monitoring performance of company's business partners as necessary. - Review and approve expense accounts submitted by staff. - Must be willing to participate in catastrophe claim handling when requested.  This may include traveling to other locations, extended and weekend hours and up to a three week stay away from home.  Qualifications and Education - Bachelor’s degree preferred from a four year College or University plus 5 to 10 years appraisal experience. - Must be proficient with Microsoft office Suite Products and Auto Estimating Software. - Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing. The successful candidate may be required to obtain out of state adjusters licenses. The Compliance Internal Audit Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of compliance internal auditors, who are responsible for performing federal and state compliance audits across the enterprise.  The Supervisor also maintains an independent portfolio of audits, assignments, and projects.  The Supervisor also is responsible for the management and administration of the enterprise’s Model Audit Rule (MAR) compliance.  This involves working with business units across the enterprise in ensuring quarterly testing is complete, periodic assertions are performed, and controls and test plans are reviewed and updated, as needed.  This responsibility also involves working with the third-party system vendor in implementing system functionality updates, implementing process improvements to the internal MAR process, and ensuring that employees with MAR responsibilities are adequately trained. The Data Scientist intern will conduct full cycle of the development of advanced analytical models under supervision to enable future growth and profitability for our book of business. The efforts include research, development, implementation, and maintenance of analytical solutions supporting various business areas e.g. pricing, underwriting, marketing, operation, and claims. The intern will conduct end to end formal modeling process including data gathering, data profiling, model construction, validation, and other related tasks; build predictive models that improve profitability through the creation of new rating plans with improved estimation and segmentation of insurance risk; collaborate with business unit leaders to deliver operational enhancements and cost efficiencies in the claims, underwriting, and customer service processes. The role is a unique opportunity to explore/apply advanced techniques while making tangible impacts to the business. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Performs data mining and data cleansing tasks. - Prepare datasets for modeling through balancing and validation. - Produces predictive models which enable the creation of rating plans and evaluation of risk. - Assists decision makers with studies that evaluate new business models to evaluate customers’ profitability including customers and/or risk segmentation, retention and lifetime value modeling. - Hands-on modeling experience and deep understanding of both conventional quantitative analytics such as GLM, GLMM, Bayesian statistics, Actuarial methods and tree-based machine learning techniques like GBM, Random Forest, NLP, Topics Model and Deep Learnings - Communicates to diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical. - Manages projects of moderate complexity. - Supports modeling requests made by other departments. - Works closely with others to gain strong understanding of insurance concepts and processes. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education - Broad thinker with the ability to synthesize information from various sources and apply that information to concrete business problems.
