This person will perform Project Management responsibilities, managing multiple concurrent projects. He/she will be expected to prepare and maintain detailed project plans, monitor progress against this plan, act as liaison between IT and user departments, and prepare presentations for management. The successful candidate will be expected to keep stakeholders informed of developments related to the projects he/she manages. Throughout all of these efforts, he/she will be expected to guide, support, and enforce adherence to organizational Software Development Methodology (SDM).   Job Responsibilities: - Partners with business leaders and technology professionals to understand business needs and outcomes. - Keep stakeholders informed of status related to the projects managed. Guide, support, and enforce adherence to organizational Software Development Methodology (SDM). - Lead a portfolio of complex change and project initiatives aligned to the strategy and vision of Shared Technology Services Group, including highly technical operational consulting, substantial budget and/or ROI, high visibility, long tail, many stakeholders crossing multiple functional groups. - Implement insurance products supporting personal lines (auto or HO) and commercial lines (commercial auto, property or general liability). - Lead the Information Technology Project team to implement a new product or enhance existing applications that support independent agents or direct consumers. Including but not limited to, front end applications for data collecting, rating, issuing or endorsing, integration of front end applications with company or vendor backend applications, databases or data warehouses and integration with 3rd party’s (credit, state DMV or LexisNexis). - Meet with business partners to establish budget for project deliverables and tracking progress to keep project within agreed upon budget. - Execute change and project management practices including planning for timelines and deliverables, establishing analytical structures to focus the work and developing big picture frameworks that shape the project approach for collaborators and stakeholders. - Managing system requirements, test procedures, and quality standards. Facilitating user acceptance testing and reviewing requirements with business owners and all other stakeholders. - Plan, execute and control projects, establishing realistic estimates and reporting metrics utilizing project planning and tracking tools. - Assess project risks and exposures, identify options and alternatives, make decisions, and implement corrective actions. - Leverage in-depth experience in the policy life cycle system testing. - Present project strategy, timelines, and progress to senior management on a weekly basis.    Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in: - Developing detailed systems requirements documents using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, descriptions, use cases, and business process analysis - Developing time and cost estimates for project(s) and presenting a justification of time and cost estimate of project to the business. - Reviewing and analyzing project requests, evaluating business requirements, and identifying impacted areas for the development of technical solutions, analyzing proposed solutions for technical feasibility and negotiating with stakeholders for approval of best available solution. - Developing and Maintaining Project Plans (including tracking scope, schedule and cost) utilizing Project Management software. - Identifying project risks throughout the project lifecycle, recording discoveries, change controls, and updating project plans to reflect those activities. - Utilizing system development methodologies and lifecycles, i.e. Waterfall, Agile, etc. to implement solutions.   Additional Qualifications: - Property and Casualty experience working for an insurance company on personal lines (auto or HO preferred) or commercial lines (commercial auto, property or general liability). - Experience implementing insurance products supporting any of these lines of business noted above. Specifically, leading an IT project team working with business team to implement a new or enhance existing applications that support independent agents or direct consumers. TOTAL LOSS SUPERVISOR    We are excited to announce an opportunity for the position of Auto Total Loss Claims Supervisor in our Boston, MA office. We are seeking a qualified individual to oversee the operations of our unit of Claim Representatives who handle Total Loss Claims in accordance with state-specific regulations.   Position: Auto Total Loss Claims Supervisor Location: Boston, MA Office Schedule: 4 days/week onsite, 1 day/week remote.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities: - Direct and control the work of Total Loss Representatives, including evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of total loss claims. - Establish and monitor unit goals for service, production, and work quality. - Plan unit workflow and monitor claim assignments based on volume. - Promote teamwork through effective leadership. - Review active and closed files in compliance with the Quality Assurance program to identify trends and provide feedback to the unit. - Provide management with monthly analysis of quality trends and performance of claims associates and salvage recoveries. - Conduct training sessions on all aspects of the job, both group and individual. - Review and approve settlements exceeding staff authority levels. - Conduct performance reviews and counseling sessions. - Monitor attendance and write performance appraisals. - Make recommendations for promotions, staff changes, and salary adjustments. - Obtain Professional license(s) as needed. - Participate in the interview process and make recommendations regarding hiring decisions. The Auto Damage Appraiser/Crashbuster is responsible for preparing physical damage estimates on vehicles where a claim has been submitted for first or third party damages in the Revere, MA area. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Claims of the Independent Agent Channel, the Director will oversee our MA and NH casualty and medical claim operations.  The Director will have oversight of four casualty and two medical teams and will ensure that claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner.  You will be expected to manage litigation activities, 93A process and stay current with changes in the industry that effect our claims operation.  The Casualty Claims Director is a key part of the executive team at Plymouth Rock. In this role, you will brief top executives (CCO and CEO) on emerging claims activity, industry trends and large losses.  Your input will directly affect not only day-to-day operations, but also the strategic planning for the claims department and Plymouth Rock Auto operations.  Our organizational structure and lack of red tape allows the Director to be highly influential and impactful.  You will drive the direction and will be a key contributor to the results of our entire operation.  We expect this Director to lead creative initiatives and an energized group of employees that provides us a sustainable advantage over our competition.   The ideal candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a strong understanding of insurance laws and regulations and will develop and implement new claims training, strategies, and procedures that drive best in class operational performance.   - Strategy: Develop and implement new claims strategies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the claims process. This includes identifying areas for improvement, developing new technology, tools resources, and managing the implementation of new initiatives. - Innovation: Identify and implement innovative solutions to claims challenges. This includes using new technologies, developing new training programs, and creating new ways to approach our goals and objectives - Resource Management: Effectively manage the resources of the claims team, including budget, personnel, and technology. This includes developing and managing budgets, hiring and training staff, claim distribution, and ensuring that the team has the resources they need to be successful. - Coaching & Development: Provide one to one coaching to ensure managers are equipped to lead and develop their teams. Identify high potential talent, mentor, to create bench strength and a strong succession plan.   Key responsibilities of the role include: - Leads, directs and has full management accountability for staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with corporate strategic direction. - Collaborates with senior leadership as well as with other members of the organization in the development and implementation of claim policies, business strategies and goals, regularly evaluating performance against goals; and holding self and team accountable for achieving desired results. - Manages expenses and adequately controls resources to ensure successful operations within established budget, productivity and efficiency standards. Leverages systems capabilities, data and metrics/reports to analyze trends and improve organizational and process performance. - Remains current of state/territory regulations and issues, industry activities and trends. May represent company in industry trade groups. - Works, in partnership with our training and development team, to develop focused, individualized development plans for all subordinate leadership positions and plays a significant role in effectively driving talent development and succession planning within the casualty and medical units. - Demonstrates technical acumen to ensure that coverage is determined properly and that claims are properly investigated, evaluated and reserved timely. In addition, to managing litigation, medical claims handling, adherence to our decision point and medical bill adjudication process. - Compliance with our quality assurance program; claim file calibration, monthly results meeting with managers and claim associates. Complete target reviews when necessary.    Qualifications and Education: - A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four year college or university. - 8-10+ years of related casualty, litigation and medical claims handling and management experience. - Experience managing a team of 25-30 claim associates (Managers, Supervisors and Claims professionals). - Excellent oral and written communication skills required. - Demonstrated ability in developing and executing strategy, and in delivering operational excellence.
