The Claims Technology and Process Analyst will be responsible for Claims project testing and user acceptance testing in our Test, QA and Model environments. You will also be doing periodic regression testing in our production environment which often involves working after hours on Friday nights. The position will also work with the business users to identify general systems and process related issues and opportunities for improvement of our technology platform and our processes, whether automated, semi-automated or manual. Additional duties include assisting with glass claims, the escheatment process, add vendor process, and attending surcharge hearings when emergency coverage is needed.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Prepare test plans and execute system testing which covers all the functionality described in the Business Requirements documents Log defects, collaborate with IT developers to find solutions, and review system testing results in Quality Center - Work closely with the IT Help Desk on issues as they arise for Claims users with all IT supported claims applications - Upon completion of user acceptance testing, provide feedback and results to direct supervisor and the UAT group - May be asked to work with business analysts, trainers, claims supervisors, or claim representatives who report to others to produce results. - Assist with the glass claims process / Assist with the add vendor process Some travel may be required if coverage is needed for in-person surcharge hearings Education & Experience: - Analytical and problem solving abilities, with keen attention to detail. - Must be self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks within a set time frame - Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with MS Office Suite, ClaimsPro, ImageRight, Client Letter, Agent Web and Customer Web interfaces - Some project testing experience preferred as well as strong collaboration skills - the ability to work well with others is very important in this position.  About the Company The Plymouth Rock Company and its affiliated group of companies write and manage over $1.6 billion in personal and commercial auto and homeowner’s insurance throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, where we have built an unparalleled reputation for service. Duties include evaluating demographic data such as Risk in Force and claim volume to determine the business need for third party service providers (body shops). The PIP Claim Representative with Pilgrim Insurance will handle PIP claims involving routine coverage and damage issues. The qualified candidate will be able to handle a pending of Automobile Casualty losses, which includes minor to high severity Bodily Injury, uninsured and underinsured motorists claims. The individual will be responsible for screening losses and determining coverage exposures. The Crashbuster Auto Damage Appraiser and GRP coordinator is responsible for preparing physical damage estimates on vehicles where a claim has been submitted for first or third party damages. The candidate will be required to provide a high level of customer service while utilizing measures to control severities. This includes oversight of GRP shops in the Buffalo, New York region utilizing re-inspections as containment controls. The assigned territory for his position will be the Erie, Niagara and Cattaraugus counties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Survey damages, prepare estimates and negotiate settlements.  Settlements include partial and total losses within their established authority level. - Issue drafts to the appropriate parties. - Document the claim file as necessary. - Complete re-inspections and supplements in a timely manner complying with all New York state regulations. - Liaison to Body Shops in our GRP network.   - Comply with all production standards and estimating guidelines - Ensure that service, expense control and public relations are maintained at all times. - Complete reports on recovered theft and fire assignments. - Participate in team meetings - Participate in catastrophic claim handling when requested. The State Product Manager leads the development of the company’s product features, pricing and competitive position. A key responsibility of this role is to independently create and develop favorable business outcomes through the analysis of complex issues and provide recommendations for the implementation of new rating plans, underwriting rules, process improvements, and other initiatives. This role serves as a liaison between the Product department and all of the other departments that interface with the group.  He/she ensures that projects are defined and implemented as intended.   Requirements:  - Accountable for the P&L of assigned state and line of business. Responsible for driving the business to achieve budgeted growth and profitability business results. - Understands predictive modeling and other quantitative concepts and interprets these concepts for business application. - Seeks out new ideas and approaches to business issues and develops his/her hypotheses independently. - Effectively manages projects of high complexity using available tools and data systems to identify, test and solve strategic business issues within the company data/reports, troubleshoots when there are inconsistencies and presents findings to upper management. - Constructively challenges current processes and proposed solutions to obtain the best outcome. - Interfaces with other departments to strategically address their needs as they relate to the product. Reviews documentation, interprets rules, and coordinates activities with marketing, customer service, underwriting, finance, and information technology. - Serves as a regulatory expert, providing a thorough understanding of our rules and endorsements. Monitors the competitive, legislative, and regulatory environments in assigned states to identify emerging threats to our objectives and recommend plans for responding. - Directly manages and develops Product Analysts - Serves as a mentor to other team members on aspects of project work, insurance and general business knowledge. - Serves as a Product representative in meetings with other departments as needed.   Required Skills: - Ability to utilize quantitative approaches to generate sound business analyses with detail orientation. Identify results out of the norm, draw conclusions and articulate findings. - Skilled in linking multiple data sources to organize data into a logical format for analysis. - Confidence in taking ownership of challenging business issues, making decisions with limited or incomplete data and seeing issues through to resolution. - Experience developing and implementing new, creative and effective solutions to highly complex business issues. - Understanding of and experience within the insurance industry is required. - Experience managing relationships with upper management and with technical developers. - Excellent project management and problem-solving skills. - Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. - MS-SQL (or related software) skill preferred. - 3 or more years in product management, actuarial, or other analytical role. - Masters or higher level degree preferred.   About the Company The Plymouth Rock Company and its affiliated group of companies write and manage over $1.6 billion in personal and commercial auto and homeowner’s insurance throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, where we have built an unparalleled reputation for service.
