This individual is responsible for the handling of Auto Property Claims in accordance with NJ Unfair Practices Act. The environment is fast paced with heavy phone work. The position requires patience and the ability to function professionally in adversarial situations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Investigate and interpret policy provisions, endorsements and conditions to make a coverage determination in the automobile property claim. - Identify and investigate Contested Coverage Claims with recommendation prepared for coverage committee. - Responsible for the investigation of the auto accident to make a liability assessment. This includes interviewing first and third party claimants, witnesses, investigating officers and other relevant parties, along with securing pertinent records, documentation and loss scene information. - Analyze the investigation to determine proximate cause, negligence, and damages. - Evaluate and adjust reserves as necessary. - Prepare dispatch instructions for field personnel to inspect vehicles. - Negotiate and settle claims within his/her individual authority. - Submit claims for approval to supervisor when over his/her authority or for guidance, review and/or referral when appropriate. - Maintain an effective follow-up system on pending files. - Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Adjust to fluctuating workload. - Advise insureds, claimants, brokers on the status of the claim. - Act as an intermediary between the Company, preferred vendors and customers. - Resolve all disputes that may arise. - Ensure that service, loss and expense control are maintained at all times. - Adhere to privacy guidelines, law and regulations pertaining to claims handling. - Investigate and initiate subrogation when applicable. - Handle and respond to arbitration and special civil part lawsuits pertaining to property damage. - Participate in catastrophic claim handling as requested/needed. This may include traveling to other locations and extended hours. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education - Strong customer service, organizational, verbal, and written skills are required. - Basic personal computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products. - Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university required and/or 3-5 years of equivalent experience. - Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply! Senior Database Administrator   As a senior member of a skilled database team, you will serve an integral part in assisting with the migration, maintenance, update, and support of various database platforms including Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, AWS RDS, Redis, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, and Data Migration Service (DMS). Activities will also include cross-functional collaboration with software development, security, and data warehouse teams. The Crashbuster Auto Damage Appraiser is responsible for preparing physical damage estimates on vehicles where a claim has been submitted for first or third party damages. The candidate will be required to provide a high level of customer service while utilizing measures to control severities. Appraisals will be completed at residences, work places, and repair shops.  This position is located in our New Jersey office with appraiser working remotely in their assigned territory of Southern New Jersey.    Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Survey damages, prepare estimates and negotiate settlements.  Settlements include partial and total losses within their established authority level. - Issue drafts to the appropriate parties. - Document the claim file as necessary. - Complete re-inspections and supplements in a timely manner complying with all New Jersey state regulations. - Comply with all production standards and estimating guidelines - Ensure that service, expense control and public relations are maintained at all times. - Complete reports on recovered theft and fire assignments. - Participate in team meetings - Participate in catastrophic claim handling when requested. This position will be part of the Direct Group Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team and has the overall responsibility in financial analysis, decision-making, and strategic planning within the Direct Group organization.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent financial and technical skills to join our team.  Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Monthly review and distribution of Direct Group results, including validations with analysis as required. - Manage the budget and monthly forecast processes for the entire Direct Group operation. - Develop and monitor reports to track key performance indicators and financial metrics against targets. Identify variances, and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to drive improvements and optimize financial outcomes. - Collaborate with various departments, including FP&A, corporate finance, operations, and executive management and actively engage in these cross-functional meetings to provide financial insights and recommendations, and contribute to strategic discussions. - Utilize SQL to retrieve financial and operational data from databases for analysis as required. - Utilize Tableau or other BI visualization tools available to present financial data and analysis of results in a clear and concise manner, enabling our business to easily understand and interpret the information. - Identifies opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data quality and accuracy, and automate routine tasks. - Partner with financial planning and analysis team and various department colleagues to analyze cost/benefit investments to achieve desired revenue growth targets. - Perform special analyses to support strategic business decision making. - Perform other duties as assigned by the department head. The Casualty Claim Representative will be responsible for the handling of First and Third Party Bodily Injury claims in a Personal Lines/Commercial environment for the Plymouth Rock Operation. Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Initiate prompt contact of all insureds/claimants/witnesses on all new claim assignments to conduct thorough coverage and liability/injury investigations.  These investigations might require the representatives take in depth recorded statements to investigate coverage and liability/injury claims. - Analyze, review and interpret policies to assess coverage and liability. Provide advice to Excess and Primary coverage issues. - Conduct field investigations, interviews with insureds, witnesses and claimants while maintaining a pending of represented and unrepresented claimant cases. - Manage and direct outside vendors (Field/Counsel/Surveillance, etc.) to determine what investigation is necessary and give them direction to bring a claim to conclusion. Ensure only necessary work is completed. - Investigate cases timely so that reserves are established and maintained at proper levels.  Revise reserves timely based on developments in the course of the claim.       - Investigate the validity of bodily injury claims being presented by individual insureds/claimants or attorneys representing insureds/claimants. Be aware of certain “Red Flags” to identify potential fraudulent claims.
