The Boston-based Home Product team is seeking a self-motivated and creative Senior Product Analyst. This role will lead the development of the company’s product features, pricing and competitive position. In this role you will create and develop favorable business outcomes through the analysis of complex issues and provide recommendations for the implementation of new rating plans, underwriting rules, process improvements, and other initiatives. This role serves as a liaison between the Product department and all of the other departments that interface with the group.
Here is what you will do:
- Be a key member of the team that is accountable for the P&L, responsible for driving the business to achieve budgeted growth and profitability
- Analyze complex internal and external data to understand drivers of trends and profitability
- Understand predictive modeling and other quantitative concepts and serves as a resource to others in interpreting these concepts for business application
- Effectively manage projects of high complexity using available tools and data systems to identify, test and solve strategic business issues within the company data/reports, troubleshoot when there are inconsistencies and presents findings to senior management
- Provide support for state filings for rate and other new initiatives, including building and supporting the rate indications; Communicate effectively with external regulators in writing and verbally, to support business outcomes
- Serves as a regulatory expert, providing a thorough understanding of our rules and endorsements; Monitor the competitive, legislative, and regulatory environments in homeowners insurance, proactively identifying emerging threats to our objectives and implementing solutions
- Collaborate with other departments to strategically address their needs as they relate to the product; Review documentation, interpret rules, and coordinate activities with other departments such as marketing, customer service, underwriting, finance, claims, actuarial and IT
Here is what you will bring to the table:
- Experience developing and implementing new, creative and effective solutions to highly complex business issues
- Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in Excel and data querying skills (SQL, R, or Python)
- 2+ years in personal lines product management, actuarial, or other analytical role
- Bachelors degree required, higher-level degree or actuarial exam experience preferred
- Property and Casualty experience required, Homeowners Insurance preferred
