The Associate Paralegal position requires a candidate with a strong attention to detail to assist with clerical and other tasks. Must have positive attitude and work as a team player to accomplish tasks efficiently and accurately. On the job training in firm software and the legal process provided.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the following tasks for a team of two or three attorneys:
- Drafting pleadings, including motions, subpoenas, and deposition notices;
- Monitoring compliance with written discovery requests and Keeper of Records subpoenas;
- Coordinating expert records reviews;
- Process and docket all incoming mail;
- Draft and send outgoing mail to clients, courts, and attorneys;
- Schedule and confirm attorney appointments;
- Keep paper files organized and up-to-date; and
- Scanning, copying, and other tasks as they arise.
- Assist with answering main phone line when paralegal is busy or on break; and
- Assist with any other firm tasks or projects as necessary.
Qualifications and Education
- Relevant legal experience and knowledge of CT civil procedure preferred.
- Must be fully competent with basic Microsoft operating systems and programs (Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Must have strong typing, computer, and phone skills.
- Must be able to complete tasks accurately with strong attention to detail.
- College degree and paralegal certificate preferred.
