Claims Representative, Personal Auto Property Damage - Complex Unit

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Claim Representative in our Complex PD Unit to join our growing Personal Lines Independent Agent Auto team in our Farmington, CT. office.

 

The Complex Claim Representative is responsible for the investigation, evaluation and disposition of first and third party personal auto property damage claims as well as for providing an outstanding experience to our Customers and Agents while you assist them through claims process. The environment is fast paced, collaborative and an inquisitive mindset, patience and the ability to function professionally in adversarial situations are key for long-term success.  This position does require prior Auto Claims experience handling comparative negligence involving stop signs, left turns, lane changes, etc.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate all assigned claims for coverage, liability and damages.
  • Determine liability of parties involved in a loss, including application of comparative negligence.
  • Initiate Subrogation process (if applicable) by creating the appropriate and well-documented referral.
  • Contact insureds, claimants, attorneys, and other parties related to an auto accident.
  • Proficient in communicating in a variety of ways, including phone, text, email etc.
  • Ensure timely disposition of all claims in accordance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to personal lines policies including related coverages and exclusions.
  • Effectively manage workload through claims management and imaging systems.
  • Ability to work in a team phone environment.

 

Education You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

 

What You Need To Bring To the Table

  • +1 years related of Auto claims handling experience, specifically including comparative negligence.
  • Experience using a claims management and imaging system and Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated level of competency in time management, priority setting and customer focus.
  • Varied State licensing is a plus.
