Position Overview:

Plymouth Rock Assurance is looking for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to provide strong leadership to our accounting operations division, produce quality work and consistently meet deadlines to ensure that the department runs smoothly. In addition, this person will be responsible for many essential functions relating to the day to day as well as the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting processes of the firm.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a team of accounting professionals including attracting, developing, and retaining talent.
  • Responsible for outgoing cash for the Enterprise, including our flagship insurance carriers, management companies and related affiliates:
    • Oversee the proper setup of all payees, ensuring proper documentation for tax purposes.
    • Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor and agent invoices using Workday Financials
    • Perform reconciliation, payment, and dispute resolution with suppliers.
    • Oversee daily/monthly accounts payable functions including employee reimbursements and agent commission payments.
  • Continue to advance our digital payments initiatives.
  • Lead Administration for SAP Concur Expense, Concur Travel program, and Enterprise Corporate AMEX Programs.
  • Assist in the preparation of supporting documents, correspondence, and responses to any inquiries for internal and external audits.
  • Prepare Annual 1099 processing and annual filings including B-Notice processes and related IRS response/communications in addition to quarterly and annual sales and use tax filings.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external business partners, enabled through effective communications and timely delivery of tasks.
  • Lead with a growth mindset to automate and streamline internal processes; drive continuous improvement efforts and deliver efficiencies by reducing/eliminating manual work.
  • Effectively drive a culture of collaboration, accountability, and internal/external customer service.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • 4-6+ years of experience managing accounts payable professionals highly preferred.
  • Experience with Workday Financials a plus.
  • Experience with Concur Expense and Travel a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Continued commitment to team building.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Accountable and committed to team goals.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
