Claims Representative, Bodily Injury

Are you an experienced professional in auto claims handling with a focus on bodily injury losses? Plymouth Rock Assurance is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Claims Representative, Bodily Injury. This position involves managing a pending queue of automobile bodily injury losses, ranging from minor to high severity. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of comparative negligence, state and federal regulatory laws, and will excel in investigating, evaluating, and negotiating all facets of automobile claims.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Investigate motor vehicle accidents to ascertain coverage and liability for a range of severity levels, from minor to high severity, including uninsured and underinsured motorists claims.
  • Conduct thorough interviews with customers, claimants, and witnesses to determine the circumstances surrounding each loss.
  • Maintain accurate reserves and ensure timely reserve adjustments.
  • Diligently manage loss adjustment expenses.
  • Communicate effectively with policyholders, agents, underwriters, reinsurers, and claims management.
  • Complete comprehensive large loss reports as required.
  • Retain expert vendors when necessary to aid in the investigation and evaluation of each claim.
  • Adhere to best practices and litigation management guidelines.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Job Requirements:

  • A college degree from an accredited university or a combination of experience and education.
  • A minimum of three years of auto claims handling experience.
  • Adjusters license preferred.
  • Insurance designations (CPCU, AIC, SCLA, etc.) are a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitasking, and prioritizing assignments based on their overall importance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Litigation experience is preferred.
