The Business Intelligence Supervisor is responsible for developing methods and leading analytical reviews of operational workflows and lifetime profitability to measure operational and marketing channel effectiveness, and ensure adequate profitability for the business being written by the Direct Group. The person is responsible for creating analytics, databases and performance metrics required to achieve these goals.  In addition, the person will work closely with the Business Intelligence Director to help determine ongoing priorities for the unit.   Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Has a strong understanding of insurance concepts such as financial P&Ls, expense ratios, rate level indications, loss ratio trends, and marketing funnel metrics and to get familiar with internal workflows (i.e. underwriting, sales and claims handling). - Identify creative reporting solutions, including ad-hoc analysis that facilitates effective measurement of operational effectiveness. Upgrade existing reports to increase efficiency of distribution, reduce redundancy across reports and to improve ease of presentation. - Collaborate with other analytical teams throughout the enterprise to review insights from recent analytical exercises. - Effectively uses available front end reporting tools, data systems and information gathered from different areas throughout the company to analyze business issues. Communicate results to management.  - Work with large databases from Production Data warehouse. Collaborate with data teams to leverage tools and techniques developed for effective data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL). - Build automated reporting and analytical tools, which includes a) queries that extract and summarize data from our data warehouse and b) procedures that integrate this data into dynamic workbooks allowing for multiple levels of analysis. - Proven ability to work independently with other departments to lead assigned analytical exercises, as well as present observations and recommendations to a wide variety of stakeholders. Business Analyst   The Business Analyst possesses a strong working knowledge of a SDM (System Development Methodology) process and is able to analyze systems and processes within the Personal/Commercial insurance environment.  They develop detailed Functional Requirements and work directly with the development team to implement the requirements, system test with the development team, support QA team and User Acceptance testing and production deployments. They provide recommendations for enhancing system functionality and work flows to improve processes and identify and correct system issues.    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:   - Document functional requirements to include all information needed by the developers by translating business requirements into detailed system/IT requirements. The Crashbuster Auto Damage Appraiser is responsible for preparing physical damage estimates on vehicles where a claim has been submitted for first or third party damages. The candidate will be required to provide a high level of customer service while utilizing measures to control severities. Appraisals will be completed at residences, work places, and repair shops.  This position is located in our New Jersey office with appraiser working remotely in their assigned territory of Southern New Jersey.    Essential Functions and Responsibilities - Survey damages, prepare estimates and negotiate settlements.  Settlements include partial and total losses within their established authority level. - Issue drafts to the appropriate parties. - Document the claim file as necessary. - Complete re-inspections and supplements in a timely manner complying with all New Jersey state regulations. - Comply with all production standards and estimating guidelines - Ensure that service, expense control and public relations are maintained at all times. - Complete reports on recovered theft and fire assignments. - Participate in team meetings - Participate in catastrophic claim handling when requested. Claims Representative, Personal Auto Property Damage   We are currently seeking an experienced Claim Representative in our Complex PD Unit to join our growing Personal Lines Independent Agent Auto team in our Farmington, CT. office.   The Complex Claim Representative is responsible for the investigation, evaluation and disposition of first and third party personal auto property damage claims as well as for providing an outstanding experience to our Customers and Agents while you assist them through claims process.
