Systems Analyst

In this role you will implement system requirements by defining and analyzing system problems; designing, debugging and testing standards and solutions. You must be adept at problem solving, workflow analysis, interpersonal relations, and have excellent oral/written communications skills. You must have the ability to work with others while promoting a spirit of partnership and collegiality across administrative and functional areas of the company.


  • Work with Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate to design.
  • Work on Functional/system integration plan and support.
  • Work on Impact analysis.
  • Work on guidelines and standards.
  • Defines application problem by conferring with others evaluating procedures and processes.
  • Develops solution by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions.
  • Support production as needed and meet development schedules.
  • Controls solution by establishing specifications
  • Coordinates production deployments and checkout for both software and maintenance releases.
  • Validates results by testing programs


  • 7+ years’ experience in systems analysis
  • 2+ years experience within the Property/Casualty Insurance Industry
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of JAVA/J2EE, Object Oriented, Design Patterns, XML, JMeter, SOAPUI,DB2, and SQL
  • Must have good understanding of non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, maintainability, security)
  • Must have Design skills (Class diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, etc.)
  • Must have cross-communication skills to work with other domains/teams
  • You must be able to write SQL and Java code as required.
  • Thorough knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs.
  • Good documentation skills
  • Experience in web services knowledge and testing
